Today we're diving into a comprehensive breakdown of farming strategies in Path of Exile 2, based on a week-long testing spree by content creator Ron. Across 20 unique farming techniques, he explored the good, the bad, and the completely unprofitable-ranking each one into tiers based on currency generation, accessibility POE 2 Currency, time investment, and current meta relevance.

S Tier- Best-In-Class Strategies

These farming methods provide the highest potential for raw currency or valuable items and are worth prioritizing for experienced or high-investment players.

1. Breach + Delirium
Combining stacked Breach encounters with deep layers of Delirium proves to be one of the most potent methods of farming raw Divine Orbs. It's especially lucrative in juiced maps where dense mobs scale loot exponentially. If your build can handle the chaos, this farm is S-tier for pure currency gain.

2. Citadel Farming
Citadels are a surprise MVP. Ron found that you can consistently find two or even three per hour, and each can drop tickets to the Tier 4 Arbiter. On top of that, they yield bonus currency during mapping. This method is incredibly stable and scalable, earning it a deserved spot in the top tier.

3. Ritual
Ritual farming is back in a big way. Thanks to rising prices on Omens and an upcoming patch buff, this mechanic remains one of the most consistent currency generators. Rituals have always had strong returns, but with the price of Omen of Fortune and similar items spiking, this is a no-brainer pick for serious farmers.

A Tier- Strong, Consistent, and Reliable

These strategies might not be quite as explosive as S-tier methods but provide dependable returns with manageable time investment.

4. Chaos Trial
Often underrated, the Chaos Trial can generate up to 5 Divines per hour with the right build and efficiency. While time-consuming and not very exciting, it delivers consistent value-perfect for players who prefer stability over RNG-dependent bursts.

5. Tier 4 Arbiter
If your build can handle the boss quickly, this is a powerhouse method. The problem? It's expensive to enter and the boss isn't instant-spawn, leading to inefficiencies. Still, the potential payout-particularly for builds like Wind Serpent Deadeye or Gemling Fissure builds-makes this an elite choice.

6. Tier 4 Zash
Zash farming shines for players who want to sell high-value rings in bulk. The only downside is needing Bridge Stones, which slow the process. Despite that, it's fast, profitable, and less risky than Arbiter farming.

7. Simulacrum
Recent changes have made Simulacrum much more attractive. It's a high-reward farming method with tons of rare item drops, a shot at valuable jewels, and other goodies. While RNG-heavy and long, it's reliable enough for A-tier.

8. Expedition
Expedition shines for raw currency and consistent rare drops. With logbooks receiving a buff soon, expect prices and demand to rise. You can run them yourself or sell them-both options work well. While not quite as explosive as S-tier, this method is incredibly solid.

9. Logbooks
Currently on the verge between A and B-tier, logbooks will likely spike in profitability post-buff. The biggest hurdle is acquisition-buying enough to sustain farming isn't easy. That said, the content itself remains rewarding and fun, making it a high-A tier strategy for the future.

B Tier- Situationally Good, Requires Support or Patience
These methods are effective but either have lower payouts or require pairing with other content to shine.

10. Map Bosses
Map bosses used to be top-tier for dropping high-level rares and beasts, but demand for rares has dropped sharply. Combined with overlap from other methods (you get rares from mapping anyway), map boss focus has fallen to mid-tier status.

11. Daily Mirror
Stable and easy to execute, Daily Mirror farming still generates currency, but the value has dipped. Simulacrums aren't as expensive, and the rest of the loot pool is underwhelming. It's still worth doing, just not for league-carrying profits.

12. Spear Farming
Once a powerhouse, spear farming has been quietly nerfed through mechanical changes and reduced efficiency. It's still viable, but less reliable and potentially on the chopping block for further nerfs. A wait-and-see approach is best here.

13. Stormboxes
A love-it-or-hate-it strategy. Stormboxes can drop raw Divines, but the results vary heavily between players. For Ron, it wasn't standout. He recommends running it as a supplemental mechanic with something else like Breach or Expedition.C Tier- Niche, Low Return, or Outdated
These techniques have niche applications or just don't bring in enough currency per hour to justify full investment.

14. Essence Farming
Once useful for crafting, Essences have diminished in value and drop rate. There's very little return per map unless you're targeting specific builds. Not recommended unless you're doing it incidentally.

15. Wisp Farming
Wisps almost never deliver value, though there's a slim chance to get an expensive talisman. The unreliability and poor drop rates keep this method stuck in C-tier despite rare success stories.

16. Cleanse Map Farming
Fracturing Orbs are tempting, but cleanse maps don't consistently produce them. It's a support strategy at best-not a standalone farm. There are better uses of your time and maps.

D Tier- Meme Territory, Avoid at All Costs

These methods are either completely broken, inefficient, or simply not worth the time in the current meta.

17. Rogue Exiles
Buggy spawns, garbage drops, and zero scaling make Rogue Exiles a complete failure as a farming method. If you're desperate, you're better off just running maps normally.

18. Gold + Gamba
This strategy is centered on collecting gold and gambling it for high-value items. It's unreliable and uncompetitive-and you collect gold passively anyway through other methods. Gamba is fun, sure, but not viable.

Final Thoughts: How to Pick Your Strategy

The biggest takeaway is this: choose a strategy that fits your build and playstyle. If you're running a tanky mapper POE 2 Trade site, Breach+Delirium or Citadels might be perfect. Boss-killer builds thrive in Tier 4 Arbiter and Zash. If you prefer passive income or bulk selling, Ritual and Expedition give consistent results.

Additionally, with many mechanics receiving buffs or changes in upcoming patches, this meta is far from static. Keeping an eye on the economy, prices of logbooks, Omens, and access keys will help you adapt faster than most players.
